La Paz

This washed San Bernardo delivers a comforting, cocoa-rich cup that transforms as it cools. It opens with rich cacao and roasted almond - think almonds dusted in cocoa powder. As the cup cools, gentle caramel notes unfold, adding a syrupy sweetness to the mix. Once fully cooled, a fresh fig note emerges, offering a soft, fruit-led lift that beautifully rounds out this coffee's indulgent, chocolate-forward character.

About The Coffee

Grown in post-conflict Caquetá as part of Luis Andrés Rodríguez Pérez’s "Coffee for Peace" initiative at Faro Coffee Hub, this washed San Bernardo turns specialty coffee into a force for social transformation. The cup opens with rich cacao and roasted almond, evolving into warm caramel and a soft, fresh fig finish as it cools.

Luis Andrés Rodríguez Pérez — Guayabal, Caquetá
Luis Andrés Rodríguez Pérez's story begins in Colombia's countryside, where he grew up surrounded by coffee - his family's farm cultivated it the traditional way. At 15, he stepped away from that world, taking a different path for several years. At 20, he returned to coffee, this time as a trader. Over the following decades, he worked closely with producers, gaining a deep understanding of the industry - not just the value of Colombian coffee, but the untapped potential of specialty coffee. Around age 50, drawing on that experience and vision, he took a bigger step: launching a project to bring specialty coffee to a new level. This is how Faro Coffee Hub was born, a company dedicated to producing and processing specialty coffee, including milling, with a focus on high quality standards and exotic, differentiated varietals.
As part of this vision, he established a farm in Caquetá, a region historically affected by armed conflict. The project was built on a "coffee for peace" initiative, aiming to transform the territory through a new productive activity that creates opportunities for the local community. On this farm, he planted special varietals including Java, Geisha, SL28, and San Bernardo - betting on innovation, quality, and the region's untapped coffee potential. More than a coffee project, Luis Andrés Rodríguez Pérez's story is one of resilience, transformation, and hope where coffee becomes a tool for social change and development in rural Colombia.

Guayabal, Caquetá
Caquetá is one of Colombia's newest coffee stories. Tucked into the foothills of the Amazon, this remote, densely forested region spent decades cut off from the rest of the country's coffee trade by armed conflict - many farms were abandoned, and an entire coffee culture went dormant. Since the 2016 peace agreement, farmers have been returning to the land, replanting, and rebuilding from the ground up. The result is a region defined as much by resilience as by terroir, with high humidity, cooler temperatures, and rich rainforest soils that are only now being explored for their true potential.
Still largely unmapped in the specialty world, Caquetá represents something rare - a genuine frontier, where coffee is helping rewrite the story of a place, one harvest at a time. Additionally, this is a region where Santiago and Victor grew up, and holds a special meaning for us at Hermanos.
